Welcome to my first blog: Blog, Don’t Judge. When first presented with this task, I was a little intimidated and overwhelmed. I must say, after writing the first one or two posts, I became excited to continue the journey. I made every effort to apply the knowledge acquired in my children’s lit class as I read each book and wrote each post during 2015. Some were more challenging than others, but I appreciate those even more for making me stretch my thinking and trust myself and my abilities. Whether you stumbled across my blog or sought it out intentionally, thank you for taking a few minutes out of your time to read my critiques of children’s literature. I hope you become acquainted with a book you that inspires you to read to or with a child, listen to a child read to you, or simply gift a book to start or enhance a child’s personal library. If you have no idea the impact reading 20 minutes a day can have on a child, I challenge you to find out for yourself (and prove it to a little – or big – kid important to you).
